ESPN 950 is Richmond's radio home for ESPN Radio, plus the Washington Redskins and Richmond Spiders. The Washington Redskins broadcasts are heard on over over 30 affiliated radio stations throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region.
ESPN 950 is also the exclusive home of the Play-by-Play broadcasts for University of Richmond Basketball and Football, the Washington Nationals, MLB and World Series, NBA and NBA Finals.
ESPN 950 is operated by Red Zebra Broadcasting. Red Zebra Broadcasting is based in Rockville, MD and currently operates seven radio stations. Rick Carmean was named chief executive officer in Feburay 2011.
Red Zebra Broadcasting’s original three Washington DC stations went on the air in July 2006 as a sports radio simulcast. Since then the company has expanded in Washington, DC, Richmond, and the Norfolk markets.
